Arcomis International Brass Event

All weekend, various venues

Brass instruments of all shapes and sizes, and players of all ages are being celebrated in this weekend of music taking place at St David’s Hall, Cardiff University’s School of Music and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. There’s everything from ‘come and play’ sessions to masterclasses, recitals and evening concerts.

Thriller Live

Until Saturday 12th October, times vary

A spectacular concert created to celebrate the career of the world’s greatest entertainer, bringing to life the dancing and distinctive sound of Michael and the Jackson 5 with a top cast and live band.

Iris Prize Festival

All weekend, various venues

Cardiff’s annual gay and lesbian short film prize and festival. Over the weekend there are screenings of all 30 short films competing for the Iris Prize, with the winner announced in an awards ceremony on Sunday. Alongside the shortlist, there is a programme of feature films and other events.

Beatbox Ballrom

Saturday 12th October, 8pm

Buffalo Bar hosts this night of classic hip hop, breaks and soul with music by the likes of Michael Jackson, Lethal Bizzle, Sugarhill Gang and more.
